Friday!

So, Thursday night, I got very little sleep due to coughing all night so Friday I felt exhausted. I'm pretty sure I had a fever and could've stayed at the hotel, but I really didn't care so I went with the team anyway to Central Park in Guatemala City to do our drama 3 times. After the first time, I still felt tired, but I kept going and did the 2nd anyway. During another lunch of PB&J we were told that we were going to the National Palace for a tour, and a Guatemalan buffet, and to meet the first lady of Guatemala! We did the drama one more time, then took all of our make-up off and headed to the palace. It was very cool. We ended up waiting about an hour for the first lady, and the buffet was very small, but we became special ambassadors to the country of Guatemala and were invited back any time. We got back to the hotel around 7 PM, just in time to eat dinner, run back to the room and get to FUAGNEM on time.
Thankfully, we got to sleep in this morning, because breakfast was at 8 instead of 7 (which is 10 instead of 9 East Coast time) then we headed to the market and McDonalds. At 2 PM we're having our team debrief, then our last FUAGNEM is tonight and we get our going home t-shirts.
Tomorrow, Team 6 is leaving the hotel at 11 AM and our flight takes off at 4 PM, we will have an hour lay-over in Panama again, and we will land in Miami at about midnight. After that, I know we will spend the night in Miami, but I don't know exactly when I leave for Philly. Please pray for safety and for all the new believers in Guatemala.

Wednesday & Thursday

Yesterday, we went to an orphanage. We did our drama twice, once for like 50 kids, the other for like 600. Unfortunately during the second time, one of the other mimes fainted, but she is okay now. When we were finished we walked out of the basketball court where we were doing our drama and saw a huge dump truck tipped into one of the buildings. Then we went on a tour of the orphganage, then headed back to the hotel early so anyone who sponsers a child in Guatemala through Compassion International to meet their child. Most of the kids who did not sponser a child went back to the market. Last night, FUAGNEM was crazy hair night & an Aeyshia Woods concert.
This morning, we headed to another school to do our drama again. On the way, our bus accidently hit a pineapple cart and almost hit the guy with the cart. Thankfully, no one was hurt. After doing our drama there, we walked to a park and did our drama again and handed out a bunch of toys & stuff. Then we got back on the bus, ate lunch, then drove 30 minutes to another park to do our drama again. I had so much fun today, even though I am feeling a little sick (probably just a cold)

Hola from Guatemala!

I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while. I tried Saturday, but the computer wouldn't let me sign in soooo......
Friday was our first ministry/work day. Team 6 went to a small church to paint, and ended up being on one of there 2 Christian TV networks! Friday night, we decided to have a fire in our room, (we did have a fireplace) and we had so much fun!
Saturday, we went to a small school/orphanage for half a work day and half a drama day. I look pretty scary in mime make-up. haha! well, since it was 4th of July, we did celebrate a little bit during FUAGNEM. Then we watched Paul Blart: Mall Cop.
Sunday, we had FUAGNEM in the morning, then we went to the market. they had some pretty cool things. sunday night, jaime jam had a concert then was the talent show. some of the girls from my team did a dance to hannah montana's Nobody's Perfect.
Monday was interesting. We had to be on the road by 7 for a 2 1/2 hour drive through the mountains, with a few cases of motion sickness. then we had a 45 minute boat ride to an island that was literally all uphill to our drama area.
Today, we had an all drama day at a school. in the morning we played with little kids and then older kids in the afternoon.
Guatemalan kids are so cute! I'm having so much fun, i can't wait to see what the rest of the week will bring.
